Strand is a technical product used by both engineers and business teams, and our documentation has to serve both without talking down to either. We are looking for a Technical Writer to own our docs end to end.
About the Role
You will work directly with engineers to understand how features actually work, not just how they are described in a spec. Good documentation here is treated as part of the product, not an afterthought bolted on at the end of a release.
What You Will Work On
Own and maintain documentation for Cortex, Ask, Pulse, Recall, Pathways, and Nucleus
Write and maintain API reference docs for the Nucleus REST API, SDKs, and CLI
Build onboarding guides that get new customers to their first useful query quickly
Work directly with engineers to document new features as they ship
Establish and maintain a consistent voice and structure across all documentation
Audit existing docs for accuracy as the product evolves
What We Are Looking For
3 or more years of technical writing experience, ideally for a developer-facing product
The ability to read code or work closely enough with engineers to document it accurately
A track record of turning complex systems into documentation people actually use
Strong editing instincts and a plain, precise writing style
Experience with documentation tooling and version control
Comfort working independently in an async, remote environment
What We Offer
Competitive salary and meaningful equity
Fully remote with no required timezone
25 days paid vacation plus local public holidays
5,000 USD annual learning and development budget
Home office stipend to set up a workspace that works for you
Health, dental, and vision coverage
Annual team offsite
Extended equity exercise window
All systems operational
99.98% UPTIME
Updates on new features and releases.
